Dave’s Supermarkets is an 86-year Cleveland-based chain of community-based grocery stores owned by the Saltzman family and the only retail food store to invest significantly in Cleveland in recent years. The newest Dave’s Supermarket will be the flagship of Link59, a Hemingway development located across the street from the new Rainbow Center for Women & Children (a University Hospitals ambulatory care center, estimated to provide over 50,000 patient visits). This 55,000 SF market will house a pharmacy, bank, and neighborhood gathering space. Local residents that are patients of the Rainbow Center will receive healthy food “prescriptions” from physicians and other care providers for redemption at Dave’s Supermarket. WIC, SNAP and other subsidies will be accepted in order to make the purchase of healthy food choices affordable. Similarly, Dave’s Supermarket will provide cooking classes and seminars to create awareness around the benefits of healthy food choices.
